Who we are

What data we collect

This tool is designed with privacy by default. We collect only the following anonymous, banded responses when you complete the assessment:

  • Income band (e.g. "£1,000–£1,500/month" — not your exact income)
  • Total unsecured debt band (e.g. "£5,000–£15,000" — not your exact debt)
  • Monthly surplus band
  • Priority debt flag (yes/no)
  • Enforcement action flag (yes/no)
  • Asset flag (yes/no)
  • Employment situation type
  • Risk outcome band (Green / Amber / Red)
  • Submission date

We do not collect your name, address, date of birth, exact income, exact debt figures, or any contact details unless you choose to email us directly.

Why we collect it

Anonymous, aggregated data helps us understand how financially vulnerable UK households are affected over time. We use this to publish public impact reports and improve the tool. We never use it to identify individuals.

How we use the data

  • To generate anonymous impact statistics (e.g. "X% of users were in the Red band this quarter")
  • To improve the tool's scoring logic and guidance
  • To report to funders and partners on aggregate, anonymised outcomes

We do not sell data, share individual responses with third parties, or use data for targeted advertising.

Data storage and retention

Anonymous responses are stored securely via Netlify's form service, hosted within the EU/UK. We retain aggregated data for up to 3 years for longitudinal impact reporting. Individual form submissions are reviewed quarterly and deleted once aggregated.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We use only a minimal cookie to remember your consent preference on this device. No cross-site tracking occurs.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any data we hold about you. Because our data is collected anonymously, it is not possible to identify and retrieve a specific individual's submission — this is by design and provides the strongest privacy protection.
